Comb Jelly Fish By Ernst Haeckel Mural

Special Order
Description
A collection of illustrations featuring comb jellies, known as Ctenophorae or Kammquallen, by the German biologist and artist Ernst Haeckel. The illustrations are from plate 8 from his seminal work, Kunstformen der Natur (Art Forms in Nature). Haeckel’s intricate and precise illustrations are a notable example of the intersection of art and science in the late 19th century, and the blue and white colour way is directly inspired by the Delft style of pottery.
This design is part of our Natural History collection, In collaboration with Naturalis Biodiversity Center in The Netherlands, and various (inter) national museums, and archives, Wall Candy presents a unique and contemporary wallpaper collection taken from real historical artworks that inspire interior design, and have done for centuries.
