South American Jungle Mural
Description
This mural is a colourful chromolithograph which was first published circa 1873. Based on a painting by German artist Ferdinand Bellermann (1814-1899). Bellermann was one of the first artists to travel extensively through the South American region (specifically Venezuela) making sketches and paintings of various natural scenes. This artwork depicts an idealised view of a jungle landscape with a waterfall and indigenous people hunting.
